Mr. Liffers is a
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) specializing in the
assessment, development and implementation of Safety,
Health and Environmental programs (including ISO 14001
and OSHA VPP). He has over 20 years of extensive
experience in the biotechnology, aerospace, public utilities,
transportaion, pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors.
Mr. Liffers has held
positions as a commercial lines loss
control engineer and property and casualty underwriter
at Aetna Life & Casualty and Firemans Fund Insurance
Cos. He has
more recently held senior environmental
management positions at Arthur D. Little, Genetics
Institute, Inc., Digital Equipment Corp. and was worldwide
environmental audit manager for United Technologies
Corporation.
His experience includes
the assessment of environmental
management programs and associated risks for domestic
and international biotechnology and chemistry-based
pharmaceutical, oil and chemical, power generation,
transportation, pulp and paper, metal finishing, building
services, leather finishings, aerospace and steel industries.
He is a member of
the American Society of Safety Engineers,
the American Industrial Hygiene Association, and is a
Diplomat of the American Academy of Industrial Hygiene.
He is a lecturer on Environmental Management at the Clark
University Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Liffers earned
his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry at
the University of Massachusetts and his Masters Degree
in Environmental Science (Industrial Hygiene) at Harvard
University.
